Volunteer Needed

- Shirley Metzger Senior Center Reporter

LINCOLN — Good morning, seniors, guess who has goofed off the past two weeks and forgot, yes forgot, to get this article in before the deadline of Friday noon. Oh my, the older I get the forgetter I get. I have a big note on my computer that says newspaper so maybe that will remind me.

If you blink now, you’ll miss February. Can you believe it is almost gone and then March. We have lucked out pretty good on the winter weather, so keep your fingers crossed through March and maybe it will be mild too. Although we could use one nice snow and freeze to get rid of the little critters who like to pop up if we don’t freeze them out.

On Feb. 21, we will go to the Golden Corral for dinner — hope everyone can join us for that. On Feb. 26, OK Country will be here for the country dance. Hope to see everybody here for that too.

If anyone has two or three hours a day for five days of the week to volunteer, we sure could use a person to answer the phone for us. What a chance it is to feel useful and to meet lots of new folk and renew old friendships. Come on down and talk to Sally about it.

We have a lot of folk who are sure enjoying playing Tic. If you have never tried it, it is a lot like rummy, come on down and join a group for that fun game.

I sure hope none of you have had the flu. Pharmacists are saying they think we have about gotten through this siege of it — I hope so.

I pray everyone has a great week, keep smiling, keep happy, keep healthy and God bless you and yours.
