Weekend Filled With Fun, Family

- Lincoln Lifestyles MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

It was a very good weekend.

Craig and Sheryl Roy hosted a birthday party for their daughter Addison at Fun City, and it was plenty of fun, games and activities for her, her 12 little friends and many family members. There were many gifts, pizza and birthday cake to enjoy.

I think she decided it was fun to be 5.

I rode to the party with grandson Brian and his sons, and on the way home, he took us on a sight- seeing tour where, even this close to home, I had never been.

Later, on the agenda was a get-together at the home of Don and Diana Bradley. Those enjoying the time were their weekend guests, grandchildren Audry, Brandon, and five- month old twins Aiden and Alexa Barbosa; also Denise and Don Mounce and Paul Myers, Jerry and Judy Bradley, and yours truly. After a taco dinner, the visiting, and fun of just relaxing — togetherness lasted into the evening.

Sunday was another special time at Sugar Hill Church. Although Pastor Rick Reed was very much missed, absent because of illness, the special music was inspiring and uplifting. Bud and Paul Cox and Chris Rogers sang several songs including “In the Shelter of His Arms,” “I Need Thee,” “Mansion Just Over the Hilltop,” and “I Wouldn’t Take Nothing For My Journey Now.” After the Sunday school lesson on Spiritual Discipline and Constant Prayers, and a brief but meaningful message by M.C. Albright, the service was more special.

Sunday afternoon I enjoyed visits with my children and grandchildren, capping a perfect weekend.

Happy birthday to Peggy Curtis, Dick Bradley, Dalton Brunner, Charlie Pitts, Jeremy Latta, Myrtle Ray, Johnny Chambliss, Ronnie Chambliss, David Johnson, Starla Boyd, Dustin Long, Don McKelvy, Lisa Rawls.

Happy anniversary to Larry and Linda Parnell.

Mr. Parnell was a coach at Lincoln schools some years ago, and he hasn’t forgotten his former students. We visited with them recently at a meeting in Fayetteville and he was asking about different ones.

Move your clocks ahead one hour Sunday, March 10, for daylight savings time.
