GRACE Place Needs New Roof

OTHER NEEDS INCLUDE SHREDDER, CLEAN AIR MACHINE, FLAT MONITOR

- By Shirley Metzger SHIRLEY METZGER IS A VOLUNTEER AND GRACE PLACE BOARD MEMBER. STAFF REPORT

Those of us here at GRACE Place are sending out an urgent plea for help.

We need a new roof and can you imagine what problems can occur with all the rain we’ve been having? It isn’t pleasant with a leaky roof. So we are asking all of you who can to reach deep into your pocket and your soul, and donate to our “roof fund.” Any amount would be welcomed and deeply appreciated. And of course, it is deductible.

Another need is a shredder. Do you have one laying around that you no longer need, nor use. A clean air machine and a flat-screen monitor are also “biggies” that we have need for. We would be forever grateful for your help in these matters.

There is always a need for body soaps, dish soaps, laundry soaps and personal hygiene items.

There will be a homemade soap class set for June 22. Check with us on the particulars for that. And we are making our own laundry soap to hand out to clients. We need small plastic bottles for that. I remember my mother making her own soap when I was young and our clothes were always quite clean and fresh smelling. Of course, she raised nine of us and scrubbed clothes on a board too. Gosh, how times have changed and how much we have to be thankful for.

God is great, isn’t He? My 11-year- old granddaughter posted on face book, “Without God, our lives are like an unsharpened pencil, No Point.”

Bless you all for your continued support of GRACE Place. Come shopping with us, there are new things brought in every day.

Prairie Grove Life Ministries, 881 Stills Road, is in need of good, clean clothing and shoes for all seasons.

The ministry will also accept small appliances (that work), linens, curtains, dishes, pots and pans and other items.

Life Ministries appreciates the community for its support.
