Washington County Enterprise-Leader

From Transplant To 2013 Lincoln Rodeo Queen

PFLAUMER RECALLS JOURNEY

- By Melody Pflaumer Special to the ENTERPRISE-LEADER

Growing up in a very rural family with dreams of theirs to own businesses and Extreme Sports, I never had the dream to be a rodeo queen.,

In the sixth grade I moved from Illinois to Arkansas where my whole life changed. Soon I discovered what cows were and what people could actually do with a horse, especially in a rodeo.

Being adopted into a rodeo family I began to discover I actually had a talent for this life. I could hold onto a horse, throw a good loop, and make good sweet tea.

My passion then arose to rodeo, the lifestyle, traveling from event to event, paycheck to paycheck and the anticipation you get once you arrive, Not to mention the family and goofy fun times that are encountered at those so-called “family meets”, or better known as rodeo events.

Within four years I was continuously on horseback with a rope or having something cow-y to do. I began to classify myself as a “cowgirl” and I held that title passionately and proudly. Cowgirls aren’t just girls who can show up a cowman with her ranching’ skills, it’s also being a proud, intelligent, and beautiful from the inside type of woman.

Rodeo Queens show that impressively in the sport of rodeo, and that’s what I wanted to have. Being the spokeswoman for this unique way of life and showing the world this culture.

I then began competing and taking on titles. Currently I am the 2012 Miss Rodeo Lincoln Riding Club queen, as a hometown girl, where I graduate from in 2013.

I have received backing from the absolute best second mothers, queen coordinators, Misty McCarty, Morgan Hunt, and Carol Jetton, and went on an adventure to discover a new encounter with the bucking bull industry.

I have created my own bullriding network called Ultimate Bucking Bull Network, which deals with bucking bull statistics and supportive rider pay-out programs.

After my reign with Lincoln, I may not be moving onto a state title or Miss Rodeo U. S. A. like the girls in the past, but by creat- ing the connections with help of the Lincoln Riding Club I now, not only run a large Bull Riding Network, but you can also find me as a hostess on the new TV Show, Touring Pro Raw Access.
