CHEST: Senior High Boys Won Team Title At Pioneer Relays

-

“Josh Williams is a good middle distance guy. He was second in the 800 at the conference meet but he’s won every other meet.”

Williams also runs the mile and is part of the Cardinal relay team.

“Martin Gomez is a sprinter for us and a long jumper. He had a good year and done well for us.”

Spencer Adams has been pleased with throwers, Charlie Wood and Matt Duffy, competing in the shot put and discus.

On April 11, the Farmington senior high boys won the team title at the Pioneer Relays held at Gentry and Spencer has a goal of winning a conference championship this season and eventually bringing home a state championship.

“I’d like to have enough guys to where we can compete for a state title, that’s the overall goal.”

“It’s always fun to wear Farmington on your chest. It’s a nice deal to be able to do that.”

“It starts with our athletic director [Brad Blew]. Every sport we’ve ever done we feel like we have a good chance to win. No matter what sport’s going on, you’re proud to say you’re from Farmington and that you coach there.”

“I think he’s come in and done a good job,” Blew said. “He’s certainly brought some energy. He and Mike are kind of working on that together. Learning off from Mike, Spencer can learn the responsibilities of being a head coach.”
