Local Girls Compete At Pioneer Relays

GENTRY — The Farmington and Prairie Grove girls Track and Field teams competed at the Pioneer Relays meet held at Gentry on April 11.

Jay, Okla., won the meet with 127 points, followed by Pea Ridge, 83; Gentry, 76; Gravette, 75; Siloam Springs, 57.5; Decatur, 46; Prairie Grove, 38; Mountainbu­rg, 27.5; West Fork, 23; and Farmington, 21.

Girls 100 meter — Celeste Messinbrin­k, of Prairie Grove, placed third overall in 13.62, while Cardinal sophomore Sherra Irvin also competed and turned in a 14.98 for 12th place.

Girls 200 meter — Messinbrin­k ran a 29.76, finishing second.

Girls 400 meter — Cassidy Dryer, a junior, placed sixth for Prairie Grove with a 1:16.00.

Girls 800 meter — Dryer was seventh for the Tigers.

Girls 1600 meter - Prairie Grove sophomore, Aryanna Mitchell, placed third in 6:14.03 with Farmington sophomore, Carley Gray, running seventh in 6:14.07.

Girls 3200 meter — Mitchell placed second with a time of 14.27.00 for Prairie Grove behind Kristen Benson, of West Fork, who was first with a time of 13:54.00. Feli- cia Smetana, of Jay, Okla., was third in 15:29.00.

Girls 110 meter hurdles — No local athletes competed in this event.

Girls 300 meter hurdles — Irvin finished third in 56.64 behind Jordan White, of Gravette, in 54.51 and Katie Loomis, of Jay, Okla., second in 55.88.

Girls 4 x 100 meter relay — Neither of the local schools fielded a team.

Girls 4 x 400 meter relay — Neither of the local schools fielded a team.

Girls 4 x 800 meter relay — Neither of the local schools fielded a team.

Girls high jump — No local athletes competed in this event.

Girls pole vault — No local athletes competed in this event.

Girls long jump — Irvin cleared 12’ 9.5” placing ninth for Farmington.

Girls triple jump — No local athletes competed in this event.

Girls shot put — Farmington sophomore Laney Dorman threw the shot put 28’ 10.5” to win the meet in front of Hannah Ramsey, of Decatur, second with 28’ 1.5” and Mikaela Cochran, of Pea Ridge, third with 26’ 8.75”. Dryer had a toss of 24’ 10.75” for Prairie Grove with Mitchell also competing.
