Lincoln Seniors Plan Fun Events

- Lincoln Senior Center SHIRLEY METZGER Center Reporter

Good morning, seniors. Although I didn’t get to go this year, the senior games were fun and there were winners and all had a good time, although it did rain intermittently so that put a little bit of a damper on things. Our Tops trip to Eureka Springs was fun and did give us a bit of encouragement to continue with our task of losing weight and feeling better about ourselves. Our three Kops (Keep off pounds sensibly) girls are quite the inspiration to us. Shirley Bridges was the Kops queen, Dorothy Straub and Julie Craig graduated to Kops status.

Four of us had an interesting thing that happened to us. I was first in line to pay for our evening meal and a gentleman said, “give me your ticket.” I was shocked and asked him twice what he said and he in turn asked for the other three girls tickets as well. We asked what he was doing and he said, “Someone did me a good turn one time and told me to pass it on so I am paying for your dinner.” What a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed visiting with him and his wife about his good turn. Angels do walk among us and what a pleasant surprise it is to encounter one from time to time. Now to just pass this good turn on is the challenge.

The Tai Chi classes are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday mornings at 10: 30 a. m., so be sure to come and give these classes a try. The walk with ease classes are at 2 p. m. on Wednesday and Fridays so hope you will join us with those.

And of course the other daily games and activities continue as well along with the delicious lunches at 11:15 daily. Hope to see you at the center soon, taking part in the activities and/or the meals as well. Meanwhile enjoy these occasional beautiful spring days and keep dry on the others.

Have a great week, keep smiling, keep healthy and God bless you and yours.
