Columnist Enjoys Mother’s Day

- Lincoln Lifestyles MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

Hopefully, everyone had as wonderful a Mother’s Day as I did. The Sunday school lesson was on faith, and a special time later, each one shared their special blessings. We all had so many that we often take our blessings for granted. I was blessed to have my daughter attend church with me Sunday.

We also were happy to have J.C. and Christine with us again after several weeks of his recuperating from surgery.

Sunday afternoon was the Farmington Baccalaureate service at the University Baptist Church. Since my great-grandson is a member of the class, it was special for us. The three speakers were teachers who had known the students through many years, and their speeches were each inspirational. In addition to solos and group music by students, a video was presented with photos of each of the graduates’ lives. A very special time.

Now, come graduation of so many, family gatherings, memorable times.

Baseball season is in full swing when attending all games is a challenge. One father of two sons, on different teams, said when they play the same day, he keeps busy running from one game to the other.

Remember the annual Cincinnati reunion on Saturday, May 25. All are welcome to contribute and join in a potluck meal, visiting and fellowship.

Decorations this Sunday will be at Antioch, Beaty, Cheatham, Ganderville, Old Union, Sugar Hill, Rose, White Rock and Wedington. On Memorial Day, Cane Hill and White Oak. Also Farmington, as it is scheduled, for “the weekend nearest Memorial Day.”

Happy birthday to Francine Sanderson, Kash Koerner, Thelma Loftin, Bettie Bell, Paige Sisemore, Dallas McClellan, James King, Derk Morris, Willie Leming.

Happy anniversary to: Henson and Reba Tittle, Justin and Lisa Rawls, Jeremy and Teresa Pitts.

Happy years, all!
