Rustic Relics Club Holds Spring Event

- By PAT HARRIS

LINCOLN — The 18th annual Spring Tractor Show and Pull, sponsored by Rustic Relics turned brought in local and area people, as well as Missouri, Louisiana and one from California.

“We had extra tractors come in,” said H.B. Hutchens. H.B. and Roger Hutchens are the coordinators who help plan the Rustic Relics semi-annual event.

The tractor show takes place in May and October at the Nolen Farm in Morrow.

It is free to the public and has dry camping and concessions available.

This year’s event on May 18-19 featured a Rustic Relics antique tractor pull, a kiddie tractor pull, parade of power and regular tractor pull.

All tractors must weigh in before and after pull. All tractor pullers must adhere to EDGE and TA rules, which means tractors fitting into certain classes from 1-11 must fit national pound requirements.

Lincoln 4- H Shooters Club had the food concession for the event. The club also hosted the concession at the 2012 events.

“Saturday was a real big day,” said Hutchens. “We think it went real good and thank our sponsors. They did a heck of a job.”

Each year the tractor club selects a feature tractor to be given away at the October tractor show.

This year it is a 1947 Farmall A- industrial tractor. Drawing will be Oct. 19 and tickets can by obtained by any Rustic Relic club member.

A national directors meeting was held Saturday with nine representatives from across the country attending.

Hutchens said there are 178 national Rustic Relic branches with 12,000 members.
