Appreciation For Flowers, Gifts

To the Editor: I would like to sincerely thank everyone for the flowers, gifts, prayers and well wishes during my stay in the hospital.

I am not out of the woods yet and most likely will require another hospital stay, so I would appreciate the prayers continue.

It is at a time like this real friends seem to pop up from all directions and I am truly thankful for each and everyone of you. God bless you all. Sally Metcalf Lincoln Senior Center Director

Volunteers Needed

To the Editor: Grace Place volunteers, supporters and clients — help!

I guess you have heard that word before. Well, that’s what Grace Place is asking for now.

It won’t cost you a penny. All it would take is a few hours a week, month or day if you so choose. Help comes in the shape of volunteers.

They are so needed at the thrift shop or welcome center at 120 W. Park St. in Lincoln.

Stop by and pick up a very simple application here at the store and we will put you to work. But I do give you one word of warning, you will be hooked on this wonderful place and all it stands for. It is a great program and, of course, it is working for The Lord.

Anytime you do things for Him, the rewards to you are tenfold.

Even an hour or so a day would be appreciated, we are quite flexible.

Items needed at the shop are toothbrushes, toothpaste, body shampoo, bar soap, deodorant, canned vegetables/fruit, mac and cheese, you name it, we need it.

Even if you could donate one of the above items, it would be greatly appreciated.

Even one item can make a difference in someone’s life. And volunteering can make a difference in yours, if you give it a chance. A personal invitation is out to you and hope to see you soon. Shirley Metzger Lincoln GRACE Place Board member, volunteer

Family Finds Comfort

To the Editor: We would like to thank everyone for all the words of comfort, prayers and support as we mourn the loss of Austin.

There were simply too many who called, visited, prayed and cried with us to thank everyone individually.

We want you to know your words, prayers and acts of love and kindness were greatly appreciated.

It’s truly comforting to know that so many people loved and cared about Austin.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him well, but he will be greatly missed.

Again, thank you. The Deere Family Prairie Grove
