Panel OKS Rezone For Museum
COMMISSIONERS APPROVE LOT SPLIT FOR MAPLE LEAF LEASING LIMITED
LINCOLN — The Arkansas Doctors Museum received approval on June 10 to rezone property at 110 N. West Avenue from residential to business from the Lincoln Planning Commission.
Commissioners moved right into approving the request after a public hearing held prior to the Commission meeting brought no response against the rezoning from those attending the hearing.
Commissioners Sandra Pace, Doug Hutchens, Jim Morris and Doug Moore approved the rezone from R-1 to B-1.
Roy Horn and Jerry Leach, board members of the Doctors Museum, expressed their appreciation to the Commission.
“We hope to enlarge the parking system, but we’re not sure yet,” said Horn about plans for the lot next to the museum.
In other business, commissioners also approved two separate requests.
On a lot split for Maple Leaf Leasing Limited on Sugar Hill Road. The request was made by Paul Sawatzky.
Hutchens said, after looking at the plat, not much was changing on the 2-acre parcel, just a 1-acre split.
After a brief discussion, commissioners approved the change by an unanimous vote.
Arthur and Marjory Fox, 19805 Ridgecrest Road, requested a lot line adjustment for a 2-tract lot.
The application stated the reason for the lot line adjustment was to transfer property from parents to son.
Hutchens told commissioners there was a need by Arthur Fox to build a shop.
“They aren’t changing the frontage,” Hutchens said. “All they’re doing is putting in a shop.”
Commissioners approved the lot line adjustment with an unanimous vote.
