Girls Shine In Freedom Fest Pageant

FARMINGTON — Girls ranging in age from infant to 15 participat­ed in the Miss Farmington Freedom Fest pageant on July 5 at Williams Elementary School.

Kelly Huff, director, said 21 girls entered in the pageant and she described it as one of the best pageants yet. The pageant is sponsored by the Farmington Area Kiwanis Club.

“We had a nice mix of talent and some very beautiful, delightful girls,” Huff said.

Jana Stephens Harper of Farmington served as pageant emcee and she was assisted by Miss University of Arkansas Sarah Elise Gafvert, who was a surprise guest and sang for the audience as well.

Judges were Natalie Bartholome­w, Tabitha Johnson and Heather Paul.

Cassandra Purtle, accompanie­d by Keith Morris on guitar, entertaine­d the audience while the judges tallied the votes. Purtle opened the pageant by singing the National Anthem a cappella.

Girls competed by age and the following winners were announced at the pageant:

Age 0-2 — Miss Tiny Princess Winner, Katie Shannon; Most Photogenic, Brooklyn McClelland; Most Beautiful, Katie Shannon; Best Dressed, Maci Claire Noe; 2nd runner-up, Maci Claire Noe; 1st runner-up, Brooklyn McClelland.

Age 3-4 — Little Princess winner, Suki Flores.

Age 5-7 — Junior Princess, Katie Beth Harper; Most Photogenic, Madelynn DeMay; Most Beautiful, Casey Mann; Best Dressed, Olivia Malouf; Best Talent, Mallory Sills; 2nd runner-up, Mallory Sills; 1st runner-up, Emily Henson.

Age 8- 10 — Princess, Logan Star Meadors; Most Beautiful, Delaney Blanchard; Best Talent, Logan Star Meadors; 2nd runner- up, Delaney Blanchard; 1st runner-up, Grace Pomeroy.

Age 11- 15 — Pre-Teen Winner, Taylor DeMay; Most Photogenic, Taylor DeMay; Most Beautiful, Tyesha Barnes; Best Dressed, Jade Cantu; Best Talent, Taylor DeMay; 2nd runner-up, Jade Cantu; 1st runner-up, Sienna West.

Huff said the winner and first and second runner-up winners are invited to ride in the annual Farmington Christmas parade.

Huff expressed her appreciati­on to the following who helped make the pageant a success this year: Tracy Vinson, Kara Gardenhire, Julia Williams, Krista Garret, Nora Taylor, Amanda Birdsong, Matt Hutcherson, Nicholas Huff, Drew Vinson and Callie Harper.
