David Delano Anderson SUMMERS — David Delano Anderson, 72, a resident of Summers, Ark., passed away July 15, 2013, in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born Jan. 30, 1941, in Tacoma, Wash., the son of Clarence George and Marie Johanna Hanson Anderson.

He was a loving husband and father.

Survivors include his wife Pattie Anderson; four sons Timothy Anderson, Freddie Anderson, Tracy Anderson, Dooley Bo Anderson, all of Summers, Ark.

Therrel R. ‘Lucky’ Pennel

TULSA — Therrel R. “Lucky” Pennel, 77, a resident of Tulsa, Okla., went to be with his Lord July 16, 2013, in Tulsa. He was born July 18, 1935, at Morrow, Ark., the son of Ralph H. and Vernice Pennel.

He was a member of the Church On The Move in Tulsa. Therrel was a retired truck driver and also from the aircraft industry.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Freeman Pennel, of the home; his mother, Vernice Pennel, Farmington, Ark., two daughters, Debbie Skeans and husband Doug and Sherrel Jones and husband Dou, all of Tulsa; two brothers, Arlis Pennel and his wife Carrie of Morrow, Ark., and Howard Pennel, of Spring Hill, Fla.; two granddaugh­ters, Julie DeVore, Kellie Hagedorn; two grandsons, Daniel Skeans, Steven Jones; and seven great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral Services were held Friday, July 19, 2013.

Mary Ellen Plumlee McGee

FARMINGTON — Mary Ellen Plumlee McGee, 85, of Farmington, died July 17, 2013, at Katherine’s Place in Fayettevil­le, Ark. Mary Ellen was born Jan. 28, 1928, in Springdale, Ark. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Henry Ellis and Minnie Bell Cooper Plumlee of Springdale, Ark.

For the 10 years Mary Ellen battled with cancer, she always kept a positive attitude and had a smile on her face for family and friends. She was a person of great faith and lived a life that truly expressed her love for the Lord. She no longer suffers with pain and the effects of her physical condition, but is rejoicing with her Lord in heaven.

Mary Ellen went to school at Shady Grove and Springdale High School. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to church, working in Bible School, gospel music, traveling, camping, handwork and she loved children. She was a very loving and caring person to everyone around her.

Second only to her devotion to her Lord was her love for her husband, Thomas Burton McGee. She enjoyed raising her family and sharing life with Burton for the past 61 years. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Fayettevil­le since 1966, Gideon Auxiliary for more than 25 years and attended Bible Study Fellowship in Northwest Arkansas for many years.

She was a wonderful cook and a great companion to Burton. Mary and Burton were a team in life. They always worked together, even in the daily operation of their constructi­on business.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Ethel Graham, Leta Smith, Thelma Jennings and Rachel Williams; and two brothers, Houston Plumlee and Homer Plumlee.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Burton McGee of Farmington, Ark.; three children, Kathy Wallace and her husband, Michael Wallace, Brenda Laney and her husband, Randy Laney and Greg McGee and his wife, Karen Caselman McGee, all of Farmington, Ark.; 14 grandchild­ren; and 20 great-grandchild­ren.

The family wants to express their gratitude to the residents and staff at Katherine’s Place in Fayettevil­le for the love, friendship and care that they provided Mary for the past year. The family also wishes to thank Highlands Oncology Group, Hope Cancer Resources and Circle of Life Hospice for the exceptiona­l care and treatment that enabled Mary to live the past 10 years of her life to the fullest.

Arrangemen­ts were under the direction of Moore’s Chapel in Fayettevil­le, Ark.

Funeral was Saturday, July 20, at Calvary Baptist Church in Fayettevil­le with Brother Phil Misenheime­r of ciating. Interment followed at Zion Cemetery.

Buster Marion Simmons FARMINGTON — Buster Marion Simmons, 91, a resident of Farmington, passed away July 20, 2013, in Fayettevil­le. He was born July 7, 1922, at Orange County, N.C., the son of Tom and Olivia Jackson Simmons.

Buster served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a Combat Medic in the 30th Infantry Division throughout the European theater. He served as the Chaplain for the 30th infantry division reunions. Buster attended many reunions in Europe and all over the USA. His favorite trip to Europe was in 1994 when his granddaugh­ter traveled with him. He worked until he was more than 80 years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 67 years Bessie Mae Simmons; two sons Eric G. Simmons and William J. “Sandy” Simmons; three brothers, William Clinton, Glimer and Wayne; one sister, Lucille Oakley.

Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Kathy Simmons; one granddaugh­ter, Nancy Woodward and husband Rusty; one great-grandson, Garrett Woodward and his grand dachshund Buster, all of Farmington.

A Memorial Service was held Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at the Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with Preston Beeks of ciating. He will be interred in Burlington, N.C., at a later date.

Sharon E. Estep

LINCOLN — Sharon E. Estep, 70, of Lincoln went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in Springdale. She was born April 30, 1943, in Iola, Kan.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Clarence Harsh eld; and her mother, Jeannetta King Harsh eld.

Survivors include her son, Harvey Estep and wife, Cynthia; two daughters, Sherry Romine and husband, James, and Jennifer Moisher and husband, Phillip. She had 10 grandchild­ren, one great-grandchild and two step-grandchild­ren.

Cremation arrangemen­ts were under the direction of Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale.
