Family Resource Fair Set For Aug. 3

Altrusa Internatio­nal of Washington County has scheduled a special event for families of Lincoln, Prairie Grove and Farmington on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 2-4 p.m. at the Brand New Church, 109 N. Double Springs Rd., Farmington.

Parent UP is a free fun- filled family resource fair, which will include a special presentati­on by motivation­al speaker Steve Carroll of Forny, Texas. There will be activities such as arts, crafts, read- ing and music for children, K-6 grades, featuring child author Debra Higgins of Stillwater, Okla.

Credit Counseling of Arkansas will have informatio­n on nutrition, health and other topics of interest to families.

The purposed of Parent UP is to help parents deal with challenges they may be facing as a family.

The event is supported by Harp’s Food, NWA Media, Pepsi, Mars Candy Co., Ben E. Keith Food Service Distributo­rs, Bank of Fayettevil­le, Ozarks Electric Cooperativ­e, Arvest Bank, Prairie Grove Telephone Co., and Cox Communicat­ions.

Altrusa Internatio­nal of Washington County is a local service club serving this county. The club is part of an internatio­nal network of service clubs dedicated to working with issues for community betterment, including literacy and women’s issue. Altrusa is not affiliated with any church, denominati­on or religion.
