Not Knowing Can Make Life Harder

- Troy Conrad PASTOR TROY CONRAD IS MINISTER OF THE FARMINGTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH.

Opportun i ty o f ten appears disguised as a problem.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.” James 1:2-

Wouldn’t it have been nice that before we were born St. Peter would have pulled us to the side of the Heavenly multitude and said, “OK you’re fixing to go into what we call the ‘real world.’

Now have fun and take lots of notes because at the end there WILL be a test.”

That would make life so much easier. To just know. Know that the problems we’re going through lead to a bigger reward. Know that the dilemnas in life we’re faced with will one day give us a greater knowledge.

Not knowing is the hardest part. We spend so much of our lives not knowing.

Waiting for the results from the biopsy.

Wondering how our children did on the flight to college.

Concerned about that job interview last week. Not knowing. If there’s one thing that can destroy a person faster than anything else it’s not knowing.

Whatever you’re waiting on today. Whatever problem is weighing on your mind that makes you hate not knowing; rest assured that there is one thing you can know. God loves you. Your Church family loves you and in the long run, sometimes knowing just that will make the world of difference.
