Resident Arrested On Drug Charges

LINCOLN — Washington County deputies and local narcotic officers on Friday arrested Rickey W. Bickford, 52, of 21024 Ant Hill Road, Lincoln, on four felony charges, according to a sheriff ’s report.

Washington County Sheriff Tim Helder announced the arrest of Bickford on drugs and weapons charges after officers executed a search warrant on his property, according to Helder.

During a search of the area where Bickford lived, he was found hiding in in the rafters of a shop located near his residence. A .410 shotgun also was found in the area where he was hiding.

While Bickford was being searched for weapons, he became combative and was placed in handcuffs, according to the report. A subsequent search revealed about 5.8 grams of methamphet­amine located inside his wallet and drug parapherna­lia was located in a front pocket.

Officers also found an operationa­l moonshine still located in the shop.

Bickford was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, felony possession of drug parapherna­lia, felony possession of drugs and a firearm and felony possession an operationa­l moonshine still, according to the sheriff ’s report.

The investigat­ion is ongoing and more arrests are expected.

“It’s still an active investigat­ion and nothing more can be released at this time,” said Kelly Cantrell, public relations officer.

Bickford is being held at the Washington County Detention Center.
