Carl Euian Wampler

PRAIRIE GROVE — Carl Euian Wampler, 68, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away Oct. 7, 2013, at the Veterans Hospital in Fayettevil­le. He was born July 20, 1945, in Breckinrid­ge, Texas, the son of Euian and Tobie Tumlinson Wampler.

Carl served in the United States Navy. He attended the Prairie Grove Church of Christ.

His passions were his grandchild­ren first and foremost, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed riding motorcycle­s and was a member of the Patriot Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jan Conner.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Gay Wampler; two sons, Jonathan Wampler and wife, Karena, of Prairie Grove, Toby Wampler and wife, Claire of Mustang, Okla.; one daughter, Sarah Rose of Pernell, Okla.; three sisters, Vickie Dodson of Lago Vista, Texas, Carla Westfall of Perkins, Okla., and Libby Anderson of Pernell, Okla.; nine grandchild­ren, Christina Miner, Natasha Wampler, Kylee Russell, Kenna Rose, Hannah Wampler, Cody Rose, Drew Duncan, Lincoln Wampler and Logan Wampler; and two great-grandchild­ren, Carlee Russell and Liam Rose.

Funeral service was held on Oct. 11, 2013, at the Prairie Grove Church of Christ. Burial was with military honors in National Cemetery in Fayettevil­le.

Glen Henry Douthit

LINCOLN — Glen Henry Douthit, 75, a resident of Lincoln, Ark., went to be with his Lord on Oct. 8, 2013, at his home. He was born Jan. 9, 1938, in Siloam Springs, Ark., the son of Bill and Ruth Reeder Douthit.

Glen proudly served in the United States Navy. He attended the Prairie Grove Christian Church and was a very devout Christian.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Virginia; one brother, Jimmy; and one sister, Billie Jean.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Douthit; three daughters, Marilyn McKinzey of Florida, Glenda Christie of Siloam Springs, and Terrica Odom of Lincoln; two brothers, George Douthit and Russell Douthit; two sisters, Berta Mae Bass and Juanita Miller; seven grandchild­ren; four great-grandchild­ren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held on Oct. 11, 2013, at the Prairie Grove Christian Church. Graveside service with military honors followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs.

Marguerite Reed Banks

FARMINGTON — Marguerite Reed Banks, 96, a resident of Farmington, passed away on Oct. 8, 2013, in Springdale, Ark. She was born Oct. 2, 1917, on Skylight Mountain, the daughter of George Adair and Vera Davis Reed.

Marguerite graduated from Morrow High School in 1936. She retired from Levi Strauss, having worked 35 years for Oberman’s and Levis. She was a member of the Amalgamate­d Clothing Workers of America (ACWA) and the Farmington United Methodist Church.

Marguerite is survived by her daughter, Vicki Banks Shannon and husband, Jerry, of Farmington; two grandchild­ren, Allan Shannon of Farmington and Elizabeth Shannon (Betty) and husband, Nathan Crabtree, of Manhattan, Kan.; one great-grandson, Lucas Crabtree of Manhattan, Kan.; sister-inlaw, Betty Banks of Fayettevil­le; two special nieces, Joann Yates of Tustin, Calif., and Patsy Cluck of Sallisaw, Okla.; and one nephew, Paul Morrow of Kansas City, Mo.

Funeral service was held Oct. 10, 2013, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial was in Cane Hill Cemetery; there were no graveside services held at the cemetery.

Scott McGlashen

PRAIRIE GROVE — Scott McGlashen, 46, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born June 8, 1967, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Eugene Charles McGlashen and Lois Lorraine (Bergler) McGlashen.

He attended the Church of God in Prairie Grove. Scott lived happy, contented and was deeply loved.

He is survived by his father, Eugene C. McGlashen of Prairie Grove; one brother, Eugene McGlashen and wife, Marlene, of Harrison, Mich.; two sisters, Deborah Morgan of Holland, Ohio, and Cheryl Smith and husband, Rod, of Prairie Grove.

Memorial services were held on Oct. 12, 2013, at the Farmington Church of the Nazarene.

Paul R. Morrison

FARMINGTON — Paul Russell Morrison, age 71, of Farmington died Monday, Oct. 7, 2013, in Fayettevil­le, Ark.

He was a member of Fa rm ing ton Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Keith Morrison.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, graduate of Prairie Grove High School and owned a family honey business.

He worked for Standard Register for 21 years; after his retirement, he also worked for Bar S Meats and Minute Maid in sales. He attended the University of Maryland and was a volunteer firefighte­r for Farmington.

He is survived by his wife, Melba Morrison; one daughter, Mary Morrison of Fayettevil­le; sister, Donna Brainerd of San Antonio, Texas; granddaugh­ter, Lauren Hensman; and one great-grandson, Hudson Coll.

Graveside service was Oct. 10, 2013, at the Fayettevil­le National Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.

Billy Freeman Glidewell

LINCOLN — Billy Freeman Glidewell, 88, of Lincoln, Ark., died on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at his daughter’s home in Muskogee, Okla.

Survivors include his son, Bobby Glidewell; daughter, Jeanette Glidewell; four grandchild­ren; and five great-grandchild­ren.

Graveside services were Oct. 11, 2013, at the Lincoln Cemetery.

S.D. Sears

S.D. Sears, 87, of Shidler, Okla., went home to be with Jesus on Sept. 20, 2013, at the Ponca City Medical Center. He was born April 5, 1926, at Webb City, Okla., to Charles Preston and Leona (Clapp) Sears.

He lived in the Webb City and Shidler area most of his life, he attended Webb City and Shidler schools. He entered the U.S. Army serving from 1944-47. He was a member of the Webb City Church of God, enjoyed cowboying and bull riding.

He was married to Betty Jean Simmons on Oct. 25, 2008, in Newkirk, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Cecil and Eugene; sister, Sister-Faye Punches and an infant sister.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of the home; one son, L.D. Sears of Springdale, Ark., one daughter, Janie Robinson and husband Richard of Shidler, Okla.; a brother, Bert Sears of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Beatrice Gregory of Chandler, Okla. and Leona Mae McDonald of Tracy, Calif.; three grandchild­ren, six great-grandchild­ren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sept. 24, 2013, at Webb City Church of God. Burial followed in Grandview Cemetery of Kaw City.

Patrica Ann Crissey

Patrica Ann Crissey, 73, a resident of Evansville, passed away Oct. 12, 2013, at her home. She was born March 1, 1940, in Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of Thomas and Eleanor Duffy.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, George Crissey; one son, Thomas Crissey and one daughter, Susan Crissey all of Evansville; her granddaugh­ter, Abby Lynn Buck of Tulsa, Okla., and one great-granddaugh­ter, Cloey Buck; two sisters Jean Murphy of New Jersey and Joan Wittek of New Jersey; her cousin, Barbara Bowen of Memphis, Texas.

Vernon Don Jr. Rainwater

Vernon Don Jr. Rainwater, 61, a resident of South Dennis, Mass., passed away Sept. 21, 2013, in South Dennis. He was born Aug. 7, 1952, in Little Rock, Ark., the son of Vernon D. and Barbara Y. Davis Rainwater.

Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca Rainwater of South Dennis, Mass.; his father and mother Vernon and Barbara Rainwater of Prairie Grove, Ark.; two brothers, Robert H. Rainwater of Columbia, Conn. and Rickie Carrol Rainwater of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; two sisters, Vera D. (Dee) Rainwater and Charlotte Grace Smith, both of Prairie Grove.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 - 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Prairie Grove. Interment will be at the Hall Cemetery in Natural Dam, Ark..

Gletha Deloris Broner Guist

PRAIRIE GROVE — Gletha Deloris Broner Guist, 89, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed into glory, Oct. 12, 2013. The daughter of Troy Broner and Sarah (Stilwell) Broner. Born April 2, 1924, in Tahlequah, Okla., Gletha was married to the love of her life, Jerry Guist for 63 years. Gletha, was employed by the University of Arkansas for 22 years.

Gletha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, two sisters, eight brothers.

She is survived by four children, Lawrence Guist of Greenland, Ark., Linda Whitener of Janesville, Wis., Jim Guist and Barbara Doss, both of Prairie Grove, Ark.; one brother, Troy Broner of Kimberly, Idaho; six sisters, Mary Lou Bradshaw of Greenland, Ethel Fields of Cave Springs, Alice Bradshaw of Wesley, Ollie Hollowell of Fayettevil­le, Chris Hutchenson of Centerton and Kathy Kimbrell of Cushing, Okla.; eight grandsons, 13 great-grandchild­ren and one great-great-grandson.

Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at the Northwest United Pentecosta­l Church 533 E. Appleby Road, Fayettevil­le with Pastor Aubrey Baughman officiatin­g. Burial will be in Tharp Cemetery in Fayettevil­le.

Shirley Prater

Shirley Prater, 76, a resident of Prairie Grove passed away Oct. 13, 2013, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. She was born June 14, 1937, in West Fork, the daughter of Fred C. “Jack” and Allie Frederick Hudson.

She was a member of the Viney Grove Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don Prater, one sister, Ruth Easter and one sister-in-law, Mary Louise Alexander.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Elms and Dennis Prater, both of Prairie Grove and Darrell Prater and wife Pat of Lincoln; two daughters, Michelle Reed and husband Mike of Dutch Mills and Darla Trout and husband, Mike of Prairie Grove; 10 grandchild­ren, 12 great-grandchild­ren and one on the way.

Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 - 10 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in the Prairie Grove Cemetery, there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be grandsons: Logan Prater, Nathan Prater, Jason Trout, Brett Reed, Gary Dick, Lance Price, and Jared Turner.

Honorary Pallbearer­s will be: Mac McCurley, Larry Long, Bobby Hatfield, Billy Ray Maxwell and John Trout.
