Farmington Kiwanis Schedule Events

FARMINGTON — The Farmington Area Kiwanis Club has several events scheduled for the rest of the year.

The club will honor veterans on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11. This year, the Veterans Day recognitio­n will also be sponsored by Farmington High School with the assistance of the Key Club and EAST Lab.

The school is asking veterans to come to the school’s high school gym about 8:30 a.m. The assembly will start at 9 a.m. and will include a speaker, music from the high school band and choir and a presentati­on of flags representi­ng each military branch. Desserts and drinks will be provided after the program.

The Kiwanis sponsor the Cardinal Tree for children in the school district at Christmas. The Cardinals will be ready for adoption on Nov. 12. Anyone interested in adopting a Cardinal can contact Williams Elementary School at 267-6013.

Farmington Kiwanis Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 7. The theme this year is a “Camo Christmas.” The parade will start at 7 p. m. at Folsom Elementary and end at Farmington United Methodist Church. The evening will start at 5 p.m. at Folsom with a chili supper sponsored by the Farmington FFA. Other activities prior to the parade will include a Kiwanis silent auction, Key Club pie auction, pictures with Santa and entertainm­ent provided by different school groups.
