FARMINGTON — The Farmington girls placed second in 4A team standings with Teah Flynn and Haley Maxwell claiming second in doubles competitio­n and Jenifer Palmer picking up a win in singles.

The state tournament was held at Arkadelphi­a, Oct. 21-22.

Boys singles

Chase Holiman lost to Rett Matthews from Maumelle 6-7, 4-6.

Boys doubles

Will Warren and Jeremy Mueller won against Lowder and Knoerr from Clinton 0- 6, 6- 4, 6- 4; then lost to Bentley and Grimes from C.A.C., 1-6, 3-6.

Girls singles

Jenifer Palmer won against Abbey Searcy from Monticello 4-6, 6-4, 6-4; and lost to Samantha Cook from Maumelle 1-6, 0-6.

Girls doubles

Maxwell and Flynn beat Isaacs and Reding from Highland 6-1, 6- 0, in the first-round. In the quarterfin­als they defeated Connelley and Gray from Monticello, 6-1, 6-0, and were victorious in the semifinals over Sellers and Johnson from Highland, 6-2, 6-4. In the finals they lost to McAlexande­r/McAlexande­r, from Valley View, 0-6, 0-6.

Farmington coach Matt Mahan said he expected Flynn and Maxwell to receive All- State honors and the girls also earned the right to compete in the overall state tournament Oct. 30 at Little Rock.

“Flynn, Maxwell and Palmer received the girl’s team runner-up trophy for 4-A State,” Mahan said.

PRAIRIE GROVE

Boys singles

Parker Galligan, of Prairie Grove lost in the first round.

Girls doubles

Maria Maraver reached the semifinals and finished in fourth place.
