George ‘Pug’ Slaughter PRAIRIE GROVE — George “Pug” Slaughter, 84, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away Nov. 9, 2013, at his home. He was born March 3, 1929, in Rhea’s Mill, Ark., the son of William and Minnie Carlisle Slaughter.

Pug served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, was a member of the American Legion Post 146 in Prairie Grove and was a member of the Prairie Oaks Baptist Church. He was a hardworkin­g farmer for 70 years and was a regular at the One Stop/Liars Corner. He was well known for his famous quote after giving a woman a hug “… now you can say you’ve been hugged by a Real Man.”

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son and daugh- ter-in-law, Johnny Ray and Betty Jo Slaughter; one sister, Wanda Shreve; five brothers, Bill, Jack, Jim, Pete and Gilbert.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Hilda Slaughter; three children, Connie Houston and husband, Doug of Cincinnati, Ark., Roy Slaughter and wife Susan of Fayettevil­le, Ark., and Lisa Allen of Prairie Grove, Ark.; one daughterin-law, Vicki Slaughter; one brother, Gordon Slaughter; three sisters, Christine Risley, Frances Taylor and Lois Gage; 16 grandchild­ren, 29 great-grandchild­ren, two great-great-grandchild­ren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Nov. 12, 2013, at Prairie Oaks Baptist Church. Burial was in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.

James Thomas Wright FARMINGTON — James Thomas Wright, 71, of Farmington, Ark., died Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at his home. He was born June 8, 1942, in Marble to Obe and Opal Myers Wright Sr.

James owned and operated Wright Distributi­ng Inc. He enjoyed traveling, was an avid Razorback fan and loved to spend time with his grandchild­ren. He was a generous and giving man.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Obe Wright Jr. and Loren Dale Wright; and a niece, Kathy Wright.

He is survived by three children, Terry Wright and wife, Beverly, Sherri Harrison and husband, Greg, all of Springdale, Ark., Lisa Wisdom and husband, Rex, of Berryville, Ark.; one brother, Omer Wright of Berryville; one sister, Paula McIntosh and husband, Jim, of Berryville; seven grandchild­ren, Ashley Wright, Makayla Wright, Matthew Wright, Miranda Harrison, Chandler Harrison, Chelsey Parker, Allison Wisdom; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held Nov. 9, 2013, at Alabam Cemetery.

Gisela E.E. Hattenhaue­r LINCOLN — Gisela E.E. Hattenhaue­r, 75, a resident of Lincoln, passed away Nov. 9, 2013, at Washington Regional Medical Center. She was born Nov. 5, 1938, in Germany.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Hattenhaue­r and one daughter, Carol Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Frank Hattenhaue­r of Lincoln, and Mark Hattenhaue­r and his wife Marcresa of Prairie Grove; two daughters, Angel Hattenhaue­r of Atoka, Okla., and Karin McClelland of Fayettevil­le; four grandchild­ren, Justin Hattenhaue­r, Anthony Hattenhaue­r, J.T. Smith and Matheu Hattenhaue­r.

The family will receive friends this evening from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service was held Nov. 12, 2013, at Luginbuel Chapel. Burial was in Beaty Cemetery in Lincoln.
