Joan Hawkins Houston

Joan Hawkins Houston, 82, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away March 12, 2014.

Joan was born in Emporia, Kan., on Nov. 11, 1932, to Jonas and Ella Hawkins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two children and two grandchild­ren.

She is survived by her husband, David Glen Houston of Prairie Grove, three children, June of Eagle, Idaho, David Jr. and Kathy, both of Prairie Grove; 13 grandchild­ren, 28 great-grandchild­ren and three great-great-grandchild­ren; siblings, Fred Hawkins and Eldon Hawkins, both of Oklahoma and Ruthella Easterling of Washington.

Dallas Ray Lawrence

SPRING BRANCH, Texas — Dallas Ray Lawrence, 68, a resident of Spring Branch, Texas, passed away March 7, 2014, in Spring Branch, Texas. He was born March 16, 1945, in Leach, Okla., the son of Robert Earl and Ruth Plumlee Lawrence.

Dallas served in the United States Marine Corps.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert “Bob” Lawrence.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Carter Lawrence of the home; one son, Jeremy Ray Kelly of Gentry, Ark.; one daughter, Keli Shepherd of Massachuse­tts; one stepson, James William “Jim” Christian of Westville, Okla.; two stepdaught­ers, Pamela Dawn Christian of Lincoln, Ark., and Terry Lynn Bracken of Fort Smith, Ark.; five brothers, David Lawrence and wife, Joyce, of Siloam Springs, Ark., Charles Lawrence of Westville, Okla., John Lawrence of Cincinnati, Ark., Roger Lawrence and wife, Dee, of Bentonvill­e, Ark., and Eddie Lawrence and wife, Mary, of Chewey, Okla.; two sisters, Naomi McReynolds and husband, Dale, of Dutch Mills, Ark., and Rita Randolph and husband, John, of Cincinnati, Ark.

Funeral service was held Friday, March 14, 2014, Summers Baptist Church. Burial was in Old Union Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ark.

Betty Louise Hudson FARMINGTON — Betty Louise

Hudson, age 83, of Farmington, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in Fayettevil­le. She was born June 19, 1930, in Hartman, Ark., the daughter of Charles L. and Fannie Swatzel Palmer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hudson; three brothers, five sisters, and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Hudson.

She was an employee of Kearney Electric and the Veterans Administra­tion Medical Center in Fayettevil­le. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Farmington.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Yancey and her husband, Bill L., of Prairie Grove; five sons, Danny Hudson and his wife, Arlene, of Springdale, Ronnie Hudson of Farmington, Bob Hudson of Fayettevil­le, Kenny Hudson of Farmington and Ricky Hudson of Farmington; seven grandchild­ren; and eight great-grandchild­ren.

A private graveside service was held at the Fayettevil­le National Cemetery, under the direction of Moore’s Chapel.

John ‘Jackie’ Benish

FARMINGTON — John “Jackie” Benish, 82, a resident of Farmington, passed away March 10, 2014, at Was h ing ton Regional Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1931, in San Diego, Calif., the son of John and Florence Lloyd Benish.

John served in the United States Army and was stationed in Baumholder, Germany, with the 142nd Field Artillery.

He was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Benish; and one granddaugh­ter, Abby Lynn Benish.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Benish; six children, Darrell Benish of Fayettevil­le, Linda Morgan, also of Fayettevil­le, Keith Benish, David Benish and Roger Benish, all of Farmington, and Glenn McCleister of Las Vegas, Nev.; 15 grandchild­ren; and many loving great-grandchild­ren.

Memorial service was held Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Farmington Baptist Church, with Preston Beeks officiatin­g.

Tom Taylor WESTVILLE, Okla. — Tom Taylor, son of Frank and Lizzie Wildcat Taylor, was born on Oct. 24, 1947, in Adair County, Okla. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Feb. 24, 2014, in Tulsa, Okla.

Tom loved being with family and friends and he enjoyed attending church, singing, and playing his guitar. He also enjoyed going to flea markets and spending time with his animals. He was a god-father to many, inspired many more, and was a blessing to all. Most of all he loved preaching the word of God to others.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Helen of 39 years, as well as sisters Leona Brown, Nellie Burgess, Annie Walkingsti­ck, Sara Wolfe, Mary Gann, and Martha Foster, one brother Jeff Wolfe, three nieces and four nephews.

He leaves behind a loving wife of three years, Josephine Copeland Taylor, of the home; a stepson Jeffery Hancock and wife Sandy of Prairie Grove and a stepdaught­er Tina Cook and husband Paul of Lincoln; granddaugh­ters, Lindsey, McKenzie, and Brooklyn of Tahlequah, Okla., and Teagan of Westville, Okla.; grandsons Dylan and Brent, both of Lincoln; brothers Roy Taylor of Bunch, Okla., and Walter Wolfe of Westville, Okla.; god-children Tina James of Springdale, Michael Dersam of Farmington, Jeremy Dersam, Adam Dersam and Cory Dersam of Prairie Grove, Michelle Johnson of Cane Hill, and Brandy Dersam of Elkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.

Funeral Services were held on Friday Feb. 28, 2014, at Roberts & Hart Chapel in Westville, Okla., with interment in Summers Cemetery at Summers, Ark.

William ‘Bill’ Eugene Llewellyn

William “Bill” Eugene Llewellyn, 78, of Fayettevil­le, and past resident of Strickler, passed away March 16, 2014, at Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le. He was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the son of George William and Audrey Faye Daniels Llewellyn.

Bill owned and operated Llewellyn Exterminat­ing in Farmington for 31 years, was an active member of the Mens’ Bowling Associatio­n of Fayettevil­le and served on its board as well.

Survivors include his wife Beverly Ann Llewellyn; three children, William David Llewellyn of Rogers, Ark., Debra Llewellyn Schmitz of Golden, Colo., and Michael G. Llewellyn of O’Fallan, Mo.; one sister, Sue Bricker of Pleasanton, Calif.; 10 grandchild­ren and 17 great-grandchild­ren.

Memorial service will be Thursday, March 20, 2014 - 11 a.m. at Eighty Six Cemetery in Strickler, Ark.
