Cemeteries Plan Decoration Days

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist MARIE ROY IS A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF LINCOLN AND HAS WRITTEN FOR THE ENTERPRISE-LEADER FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS.

There has been a change in the date of the annual Cincinnati reunion. Instead of the fourth Saturday as it has been before, it will be held Saturday, May 31. (The Old Union Cemetery decoration will still be held the fourth Sunday, as usual.) The reunion will be from 1-4 p.m., with lots of visiting and refreshments, in the Cincinnati Fire Station. So, mark your calendars for the change and be sure to tell whoever might be interested, for word of mouth helps spread the news.

In case you haven’t heard, there is another change. This in the library hours: 9 a. m.- 5 p. m. Monday, Wednesday and Saturday; noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

Note: Knowing scripture can save your life in more ways than one:

An elderly lady, returning home from evening church services, caught a man in the act of robbing the home and yelled, “Stop! Acts 2:38!” (Repent and be baptized in the name of Christ so that your sins may be forgiven.) The burglar stopped in his tracks.

The woman calmly called the police and explained what she had done. As the officer cuffed the burglar, he asked, “Why did you just stand there? All she did was yell a scripture at you.”

“Scripture?” replied the burglar. “She said she had an ax and two 38s.”
