Kitchen Band On Road Again

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

It was a beautiful Tuesday and members of the Lincoln Kitchen Band were ‘on the road’ again when 15 members went to Prairie Grove Health and Rehab to entertain the residents.

It was just like “old times” as they again sang, danced and played their “instruments.” We enjoyed those residents who took part, some singing along at the last, especially with the band’s usual closing song, I’ll Fly Away.

We look forward to meeting with other groups soon, for happiness shared is most enjoyed.

Members of the Sugar Hill Church congregation remained after services Sunday and discussed the planned wheelchair-accessible door and ramp to replace the current south door.

An important birthday is this Friday, Fourth of July — our nation will be 238 yearsold. “God shed His grace on thee.”

Of interest: Two presidents, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, who also signed the Declaration of Independence, both died on July 4, 1826. The third president and founding father James Monroe died July 4, 1831. The 30th president, Calvin Coolidge was born July 4, 1872.

Happy birthday to Bryson Patrick, Diana Bradley, Ralph Moore, LaHaya Bentley, Ryan Pinkerton, Alicia Woffard, Kimberly Lyons, Cindy Sparkman, Kelly Bridges, Emmalyn Johnson, Dustin Taylor; Rickey Myers and Brian Bradley, both on July 4.

Happy anniversary to Luther and Betty Thompson, Ken and Marcie Ryan, Garland and Ann Smith, Kenny and Debbie Butler.

Happy years, all.
