Ruby Dallas Franks

PRAIRIE GROVE — Ruby Dallas Franks, 100 years old, a resident of Prairie Grove, passed away Aug. 6, 2014, at Katherine’s Place in Fayettevil­le. She was born July 10, 1914, in Prairie Grove, the daughter of Ernest Lee and Drucilla Cox McCamish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George William Franks; two sons, Billy Franks and Roy Gene Franks.

Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Mary Franks of Prairie Grove and Ophelia Franks of Summers; four grandchild­ren, Michelle Franks Gibbs, Michael Lee Franks, Timothy Franks and LaDonna Hays; and seven great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral service was held Aug. 7, 2014, Rheas Mill Community Church in Rhea, Ark., with burial in Rhea Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rhea Cemetery, 16091 W. Hwy. 62, Prairie Grove, AR 72753.

Arrangemen­ts were under the direction of the Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove, Ark.

Leonard Dean ‘ L. D.’ Sears

SPRINGDALE — Leonard Dean “L.D.” Sears, 65, a resident of Springdale, Ark., passed away Aug. 5, 2014, at his home. He was born Jan. 24, 1949, in Lincoln, Ark., the son of S.D. and Helen Loftin Sears.

Survivors include his son Dallas Sears and wife Debra of Murfreesbo­ro; four grandchild­ren Joshua Aaron Hall, Jonathan Wayne Gregory, Elena Ann Sears, and Heather Daniele Sears; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at Bethesda Cemetery in Morrow, Ark.

Tommy Paul Rothrock LINCOLN — Tommy Paul Rothrock, 74, of Lincoln passed away July 25, 2014. He was born April 18, 1940, in Weatherfor­d, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Rothrock; two daughters and their spouses, Tammy and Jon L. Vaughn of Stilwell, Okla., and Sondra and Steve Hardin of Fort Gibson, Okla.; one brother and his spouse, Jim and Barbara Rothrock of Cool, Texas; eight grandchild­ren, Amber Kirk, Jason Kirk, Micah Kirk, Chasen Hardin, Colby Hardin, Connor Hardin, Cheyenne Vaughn, Jaron Vaughn; five great-grandchild­ren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Hoyte Rothrock and his parents, Tom and Pauline, all of Lincoln.

Services were held July 28, 2014, at Lincoln First Baptist church with pastors Randy Magar and Jack Thompson officiatin­g.

Arrangemen­ts were under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Elvin Smith

Elvin Smith, 84 a resident of West Fork, Ark., passed away Aug. 8, 2014, at Willard Walker Hospice in Faye t tev i l le , Ark.. He was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Fort Smith, Ark., the son of Willie and Mary Josephine Rorie Smith.

He was a member of the New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church. Elvin retired from the Arkansas State Forestry Commission; was a life- long cattle farmer and co-founder of the Stilwell Sale Barn in Stilwell, Okla.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Newell Smith, Delton Smith and Melvin Smith and three children, Alfred Smith, Dale Smith and John Cooley.

Elvin is survived by his wife Betty Smith of the home and his children, Terri Lynne McNaughton and her son Don E. McNaughton, Darrel Cooley, David Cooley, Mary Matthews, Marie Lee and Cecilia Daniels; nephews John Smith and wife Tammy Smith and Kelly Ramey; several grandchild­ren, many great-grandchild­ren, nephews, nieces, cousins and lots of friends.

Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church near Prairie Grove, Ark., with burial in McDonald Cemetery near Hogeye, Ark.
