Man Sentenced To Jail For Chase
PRAIRIE GROVE —A Greenland man was sentenced to 180 days in jail plus fees and fines following a trial last week in Prairie Grove District Court.
Cody Ray Tisdale, 22, fled from a Prairie Grove police officer on Feb. 21. Washington County deputies took up the chase when the suspect came into the Farmington city limits.
Tisdale was charged with driving while intoxicated (second offense), driving on suspended license, driving left of center, reckless driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, no proof of insurance, fleeing and not having a motorcycle license.
Susie Copeland, district court clerk, said Judge Graham Nations sentenced Tisdale to 180 days in Washington County Detention Center plus fines and cost for fleeing; 90 days for reckless driving; and 90 days for driving on suspended license, with the days to run concurrently.
Tisdale received fines for failure to stop and having no motorcycle license. Copeland said his total fees and fines will be $3,465.
Tisdale was found not guilty for DWI and not guilty for driving left of center.
According to the police report, the chase started when Officer Chris Porter attempted to stop Tisdale for failing to come to a complete stop at the intersection of Battle and Douglas streets. The motorcycle continued to accelerate as Porter pursued Tisdale with lights and sirens going.
Porter reported that Tisdale’s speed was in excess of 100 mph. As the motorcycle rounded the intersection of Yukon and Main streets in Farmington, the driver lost traction and the motorcycle skidded to a stop on the grass across from Bois D’Arc.
Tisdale was taken into custody following the trial and escorted to the detention center.
