Walk To Cure
The 10th annual Farmington Walk to Cure Diabetes will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, in the vacant lot next to Marvin’s IGA. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the walk will begin at 9 a.m. The theme is “Celebrate by asking 10 people for $10.” Activities after the walk will include food, inflatables, music, silent auction and basket auction. Join the walk to help raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in its search to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes.
LINCOLN
Calendar Events
Lincoln Senior Center has scheduled “Early warning signs” with Danita Mullins from W.R.M.C on Thursday, Sept.11, at 10:30 a.m; Fire Safety with Jay Norton from the Lincoln Fire Department on Friday, Sept.12, at 10:30 a.m.; and a dance with music provided by the band “Night Shift” on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 6:30 p.m. at the center.
Fall Cleanup
Lincoln has set its Fall Cleanup (in city limits only) for Sept. 22-26. Items that will be picked up on regular trash days at no charge will be furniture, electronic components, appliances such as stoves, washing machines, dryers, hot water tanks, refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners. Items that will not be picked up include batteries, tires, construction debris and hazardous waste. Those can be taken to Boston Mountain Solid Waste.
CANE HILL
Harvest Festival
The 28th annual Cane Hill Harvest Festival is set for Sept. 20-21. Visitors can enjoy a country breakfast, live music, museum, quilt show and raffle, play horseshoes and a parade. Local residents will demonstrate making lye soap, hominy and sorghum molasses. Quilt show begins at 8 a.m. daily with drawing for handmade quilt at 4 p.m. Sunday. Parade begins at 10 a.m. Saturday. All entrants are welcome with line-up beginning at 9 a.m. For more information call 479-8240147.
DUTCH MILLS
Wild Game Day
Liberty Baptist Church at Dutch Mills will have Sunday school at 10 a.m., church service at 11 a.m. followed by the annual Wild Game Day on Sept. 21. There will be skeet shooting, prizes, paint ball for the kids; wear camouflage to church that day.
BETHEL GROVE
Singing Program Bethel Grove Community will sponsor a singing group at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 12 at the Bethel Grove Community building. Please bring a covered dish.
