-

A 52-yard touchdown run right up the gut by Lopez on Prairie Grove’s fourth play of the game stacked Prairie Grove to a 6-0 lead. On their next series Catt shed tacklers and outraced the West Fork secondary for a 53- yard touchdown run increasing the advantage to 12-0.

On Prairie Grove’s third possession Dylan Soehner did his best Rob Gronkowski impression when he used his height advantage to out jump West Fork’s defensive back on a Marrell pass which resulted in a 14-yard touchdown reception. Sam Dodd crossed the goal line on the 2-point conversion which swelled the lead to 20-0.

The score ballooned to 28- 0 when Marrell connected with Catt , hitting the running back in stride for a 59-yard touchdown. Lopez picked his way through the defense on the two-point try.

P r a i r i e G r o v e wrapped-up their first half scoring when Blake Faulk closed out an 80- yard Prairie Grove drive with a 3- yard touchdown run behind the left-side of Prairie Grove’s offensive line. Matthew Gauldin booted the PAT which made the score 35-0 heading into the halftime locker room.

With the “mercy- rule” clock running continuously in the second half, Prairie Grove only had time to add one more touchdown to their total. With 5: 38 left to play, Walker closed out a 60-yard series by finding pay dirt from 9-yards out. Faulk added the extrapoint which brought the score to 42-0. Diego Martinez helped preserve Prairie Grove’s shutout when he intercepted West Fork’s signal caller with 15 ticks on the clock.

Prairie Grove will host the Huntsville Eagles on Friday in their 4A-1 conference opener. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
