Francis Frank Piha
Francis Frank Piha, 89, of Bentonville, Ark., passed away Nov. 15, 2014, in a Springdale hospital. Mr. P iha wa s born Sept. 13, 1925, in Le Center, Minn., to Frank and Rosemary Genter Piha, who preceded him in death, as well as his first wife, Marjorie, and a son, Francis Frank Piha Jr.; two grandchildren, Terry Richard Driskill Jr and William Piha, and his sister Lucille Northcutt.
He was a WWII Army Air Force Veteran who flew more than 40 missions over Berlin in a B-17 Bomber. After the service he owned and operated a dairy farm in Oranogo, Mo. Later he and his wife operated Maude Ethel Restaurant in Bentonville.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years , Dorothy Russell Piha of Bentonville; two sons, Monte Piha and his wife Gail of Farmington and Aaron Piha and his wife Shelli of Bentonville; 2 daughters, Sue Walker and her husband Jim of Rogers and Janet Saint John and her husband, Don of Alaska; one brother, Leonard Piha and his wife, Mary Lee of Bella Vista; two sisters, Magdaline Simpson of Mission Hills, Calif., and Cecilia Heppes of Burbank, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Joesef Walker, Jared Driskill, Joel Driskell and his wife Breanna, Sarah Stewart and her husband Matt, Lauren Clevenger and her husband C.C., Ethan Piha, Kali Piha and Stephen Piha and one great grandchild, Nicolaus Walker.
Funeral service was conducted Nov. 21 in the chapel of Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home.
