FAYETTEVIL­LE — Alvin Thomas Skelton, 67, a resident of West Fork, passed away January 9, 2015, in Fayettevil­le. He was born November 15, 1947, in Prairie Grove, the son of Bill and Flora Smith Skelton.

Thomas served his country in the United States Army at age 18. He was stationed in Germany and Korea before going to Vietnam. When he returned from Vietnam he married and raised his children before joining the National Guard, 2nd 142 Field Artillery in Lincoln, Arkansas. During his time in the guard he served his country again in Desert Shield and Desert Storm and retired in 1991. He enjoyed his retirement hunting and fishing and is now going to his just reward of all of those things all the time in comfort and joy with his family who has been waiting on him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Billy, Clifford and Carl; one son Thomas Ray Skelton.

Survivors include two sons Darrin Gene Skelton of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and Stephen Wayne Skelton of Winslow, Arkansas; Daisy Nicole Skelton of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; the mother of his children Barbara Stewart of Prairie Grove; one brother Paul Skelton of Lincoln; two sisters Sharon Thomaston of Piney, Oklahoma and Mary Burrows of Huntsville, Arkansas; seven grandchild­ren and two great grandchild­ren.

Funeral service was held Monday, January 12, 2015, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery near Morrow, there will be no graveside services held at the cemetery.
