Leap Year Birthday Celebrated

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

Not to be out done by circumstances, Addison Roy, daughter of Craig and Sheryl Roy, enjoyed her birthday party at Hopes and Dreams in Springdale Sunday afternoon with a host of friends and family. Since her birthday is not on the calendar this year, (she was born on Feb. 29), they celebrated on March 1. Next year, she will celebrate her “second” birthday, as she will be eight years old. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Attendance for the Lincoln Kitchen Band was scarce Tuesday because of the weather and illness. Only four tried the chicken dance. During “joke time,” Jack Thompson made us aware of the fact that we should be careful what we wish for.

Tickets are now on sale for the Hee Haw Show in the Senior Center. This as a cast of local players and promises a good show. Dinner will be provided.

Weather reports from the east and west are still of extreme conditions. Elsie Hanger called from Virginia and said they also missed church Sunday, and more to come in form of ice and snow.

California is going into their fourth year of drought, water is cut off from farmers that had formerly been available. While we might not like the snow and ice, it is wet, and the western states would welcome some of it. So let us be thankful for the moisture, and pray for those who do desperately need it.

Happy birthday to Myrtle Ray, Starla Boyd, Ronnie Chambliss, Johnny Chambliss, Don McKelvy, Lisa Rawls, Robin George, Nicole Evans, Jerry Bradley, Debbie Stout.

Happy anniversary to Dustin and Tiffany Long and Al and Sue Sanders. Happy years, all! Have a SONshine day
