Residents Held At Gunpoint, Handcuffed
FARMINGTON — Farmington police responded to a call of a home invasion Monday morning at a residence on Allen Place, after two suspects posing as detectives pulled a gun on the occupants, handcuffed them and demanded cash and drugs.
According to a news release issued by Farmington police, the 911 call came in at 7:52 a.m. The home is located in the neighborhoods behind Legends Realty on Main Street in Farmington. Monday, Sgt. Mike Wilbanks did not want to give out the specific address of the incident because of the ongoing investigation.
The victims, a man and woman, reported that a black male and white female posing as detectives came to the door and said they were there to investigate a case. The victims said the suspects did not identify a specific police department and described the suspects as both nicely dressed, said Wilbanks.
He said the residents assumed the suspects were detectives and
allowed them into the house. The suspects then brandished a gun, held the residents at gunpoint and handcuffed the man and woman. One of the suspects struck the woman but she was not badly injured, Wilbanks said. After gaining an unknown amount of cash, the suspects left in a gray, Honda sedan in an unknown direction of travel.
The white female was described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, and approximately 20-25 years old. She had shoulder-length brown hair. The black male was described as approximately 6 feet tall and about 20-25 years of age. The suspects were alleged to have been in possession of a black handgun, unknown make or model.
The investigation is ongoing by Farmington police. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police department, 267-3411.
