Dr. Tamara D. (Allen) Bogan
Dr. Tamara D. (Allen) Bogan, 64, of Prairie Grove, Ark., passed away on June 6, 2015, at the Willard Walker Hospice Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
She was born Nov. 24, 1951, in Pasco, Wash., the daughter of Melvin and Pearl (Riska) Allen, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was a 1970 Honors Graduate of Bentonville High School, a 1976 Honors Graduate of the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, with a Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, and a 1990 Graduate of Louisiana State University, School of Veterinary Medicine, with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
She started wo rking for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety Inspection Service as a Food Inspector from 1977 to 1986 when she started Veterinary School. After graduation she returned to the Department of Agriculture as a Supervisory Veterinary Medical Officer. She received numerous performance awards, but was most proud of those awards related to her work in Humane Handling of food animals. Her interests away from the workplace were her Corgi and her horses.
She is survived by her husband, Tim of the home, whom she married in 1980; her brother, James Allen of Holiday Island; her sister, Cindy Allen of Rogers; and her father-and mother-in-law, John and Margaret Bogan of Farmington, Ark.
Luginbuel Funeral Home of Prairie Grove is in charge of arrangements.
