Cowboy Come Home

- MARK HUMPHREY COWBOY POETRY (Mark W. Humphrey/Jethro Ephriam) MARK HUMPHREY ENTERPRISE-LEADER

worn out straw hat touch of grey in the whiskers on his chin

heart as big as Texas

and blue eyes that melt

oasis in the desert

get along little dogie

when ya gonna come

home, cowboy?

how far ya gonna roam, cowboy?

where will the dusty trail end?

will you ever settle down with me?

I have waited patiently, cowboy

from sunup to sundown, cowboy

tending your herd and keeping your fire burning, when ya gonna come home, cowboy?

how many broncs must you break?

how much fence must you ride?

how many hearts must you break?

how many must you take for a ride?

when ya gonna come home, cowboy?

how far ya gonna roam, cowboy?

where will the dusty trail end?

will you ever settle down with me?

how far ya gonna roam, cowboy?

where will the dusty trail end?

will you ever settle down with me?

I have waited patiently, cowboy

from sunup to sundown, cowboy

tending your herd and keeping your fire burning when ya gonna come home, cowboy?
