- By Lynn Kutter

LINCOLN — Cars, music, food. It will all be available at the Lincoln square on Saturday as the fourth annual Chicken Rod Nations car show rolls into town.

Sponsored by Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce, the Chicken Rod Nations has been a great success for the community from the beginning. Last year, more than 100 vehicles registered and the chamber expects to have more than 100 again this year, said Bryan Snyder, chamber treasurer.

Snyder attributes the car show’s success to a beautiful square with lots of shade trees, great event organizers and support from the community, local businesses and businesses outside Lincoln.

“We have great people who support us throughout the year,” Snyder said.

The car show starts at 9 a.m. and goes through 3 p.m., with judging scheduled to start a noon. Registration includes a $20 entry fee and the first 100 entries receive a free t-shirt. Door prizes also are available for those who bring vehicles to the show.

Food concessions for sale include pork loin sandwiches from Lincoln

Area Kiwanis Cl u b, hamburgers and hotdogs from Lincoln Band Boosters and snow cones from Lincoln FFA Chapter.

A country breakfast will be available at Lincoln Senior Center from 7-10 a.m.

The chamber will present 30 awards and car show classes include best in show, best chopped, best paint, longest distance, least original, best engine, top 10 rat rod and top 10 show car.
