Summer Reading Program Continues

- Diana Payne DIANNA PAYNE IS LIBRARY DIRECTOR AT LINCOLN PUBLIC LIBRARY.

What an amazing summer, all the rain and such deep green in the garden and the trees here on the square! Makes you stop and count your blessings for all we have when others are so desperate for rain.

Here at The Lincoln Public Library we are hosting Summer Reading with Ms. Sherry Rodgers and this week the theme is “Super Heroes and Villains,” and next week will be “Heroes of American History.” All ages are invited on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. For The older kids 5th grade and up, we have “Cosplay: Create and Celebrate.” Please pre-register for this class.

We still have GED classes going on through the summer, however it is only on Tuesdays 5-8 p.m. until August. This is a free class. If you need more information, you may call us here at the library at 479-824-3294.

The Washington County Cemetery Preservation Group will meet Saturday, July 25, from 10 a.m. until noon in the Lincoln Library. Mike Freels, President of the WCCPG, will give a short slide presentation regarding the group and its mission. Following this, Susan Young, Outreach Coordinator of Shiloh Museum, will give a slide presentation of Folk Art Tombstones in the Ozarks. After the meeting, there will be an on-site visit to a couple of historic cemeteries in the immediate area. Those interested are invited to attend. We will be using the large conference room for this event.

We just sent up some more fishing poles to be processed. We will have them back soon so don’t forget you may check them out for 2 weeks.

Come by and check us out!
