Gospel Singing

Folk Mountain Gospel group from Missouri will sing and play their biblical and traditional instruments Aug. 1 at 4 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on U.S. 62 between Prairie Grove and Lincoln. Their instruments are hammered dulcimer, bowed psaltery, zither, mountain dulcimer, mandolin and guitar with their voices to provide a down-home, family-oriented message of Jesus’ love and grace. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy some folk mountain music and heart-warming stories designed to encourage and inspire. A love offering will be received.

School Assistance Available

Altrusa International of Washington County will sponsor a Parent Up event with free school supplies, free lunch and free haircuts (while supplies last) from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 8 at Prairie Grove High School. Families with children of all ages are welcome. Activities will be planned for children ages kindergarten-sixth grade. The DHS mobile unit will be on site to register families who have needs with services they provide.

School Open House

Prairie Grove Middle School will have Open House Aug. 11. Schedules will be available to pick up between 5 and 7 p.m. Teachers and staff will be in their classrooms during this time. A New Student Orientation question and answer session will be in the cafeteria at 6 p.m.
