Rustic Relics Tractor and Pull Show
Another beautiful, fall weekend helped the success of the 20th annual Fall Tractor Show and Pull, sponsored by Rustic Relics Inc. Antique Tractor Club.
The show was Oct. 17-18 on the Nolen Farm in Morrow.
“It went well,” said Jay Norton, secretary/treasurer for the tractor club. “We don’t pull crowds like we did years ago but it still was well attended.”
The Rustic Relics show gives visitors the opportunity to learn about the history of farming and to see antique tractors used years ago.
Museums are on site to provide more information of years gone by.
The event included an adult tractor pull, kiddie tractor pull, parade of power and the feature tractor this year — a 1950 Oliver 66 “Row Crop.” A $5 donation gives one a chance to win this tractor.
Rustic Relics sponsors a spring and fall show and each time raffles off a feature tractor. The club purchases an old tractor and restores it. Proceeds from the raffle are used to purchase the next feature tractor. If there is any additional money left over, the club awards one or two college scholarships to a Prairie Grove or Lincoln student.
Trygve Larson of Prairie Grove won this year’s featured tractor.
Norton said the adult tractor pull included 81 pulls over the two days and about 12 children participated in the kiddie tractor pull.
The spring Rustic Relics Tractor Show and Pull will be held May 14 and 15 in Morrow.
The Rustic Relics club meets at 7 p. m. the first Thursday of each month at the clubhouse on the Nolen farm. Anyone interested is invited to attend a meeting.
