Hubert Denver Wilhite, 91, of Springdale, Ark., went to be with his Lord on Nov. 3, 2015, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born June 2, 1924, in Rosedale, Ark., the son of Jesse and Bessie Dobbs Wilhite

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfathe­r who lived a Godly life. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends in need. He retired from Allens Canning Company in Johnson, Ark.

He was of the non denominati­onal faith and attended several churches in the area.

He was preceded in death by one son, Denver Ray Wilhite; his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mattie Modine Wilhite; three daughters, Janice Nelson and husband Carl, Betty Wilhite, Kay Oxford and husband Gary; one chosen daughter, Fern Channel all of Springdale; two brothers, Ivan Wilhite of Farmington, Ark., and Robert Wilhite and wife Ina Jo of Lincoln, Ark.; two sisters, Bernice Corley of Prairie Grove, Ark., and Oleta Taylor of Farmington; one grandson, Slade Wilson and wife Annette of Springdale; one granddaugh­ter, Starr Austin of Long Island, N. Y .; one great-granddaugh­ter, Olivia Austin; two great-grandsons, Matthew LaRue and wife Kayla and Adam LaRue and wife Keisha; one great-greatgrand­son, Brennan LaRue; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with burial in Farmington Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s were his grandson Slade Wilson and his nephews: Steve Wilhite, Don Wilhite, Darryl Wilhite, T.J. Farris, and Rick Wilhite.

Honorary pallbearer­s were: Howard Wilhite, Shannon Wilhite, Darren Wilhite, and Mike Dobbs
