Seniors Ride Zip Line In Branson

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

Seniors of the Farmington, Lincoln, and Prairie Grove Centers closed out October with an unforgettable trip to Branson, Mo. Taking their vans and several private vehicles, the groups attended the Baldknobbers show Friday, spent the night and returned home Saturday. One of the highlights of the trip was riding the zip line. Three of the Lincoln group rode — they might be Seniors, but they are young at heart.

Members of the Lincoln Center also made another trip to the Fayetteville Farmers’ Market.

Elkins Center members visited Lincoln Tuesday to play BB Baseball. Lincoln played the good host and allowed the Elkins team to win the game.

The Lincoln Kitchen Band has again been invited to perform for the residents of Prairie Grove Health and Rehab, and they are looking forward to sharing fun with this group.

Do ladybugs migrate? Sunday, suddenly my house was literally covered with the little bugs. They even got between the screens and windows. The next day, only a few remained. If they do migrate, where do they spend their summers and winters? And, if tiny humming birds catch rides on the backs of geese on their seasonal trips, how do the tinier bugs arrive at their destination, on their own power? Just wondering.

Evidently the weather hasn’t been favorable for deer hunting. I haven’t yet heard of any having been bagged. Will I be deprived of fixing a cooker of venison for Thanksgiving dinner? Maybe the fog will stay away and the wind die down. The Mighty Hunter He headed up north with his trusty gun

Like the mighty hunters of old.

Later I asked “What’d you get, son?”

He said, “Hungry, tired and cold.”

Happy birthday to: Wesley Martsching, Jean Helm, Jimmy Chambliss, Tracy Pitts, Dolly Myers, Deby Bailey, Teresa Pitts, Don Griscom, J. D. Barker.

Happy years, all!
