Recycling Service Hours To Change

- Lincoln Lifestyles MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

Remember recycling next Monday, Jan. 11, starting new hours for 2016, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each second Monday and fourth Monday of the month.

For around 25 years, we’ve been fortunate to have this free service, taking unbelievable amounts of what would otherwise be trash for the landfills, and all this is recyclable, to be made into many usable items. They take tin and aluminum cans, #1 and # 2 plastic jugs and bottles, paper products, cardboard, magazines, clear and colored bottles and jars. Our thanks to Steve Huxtable and his helpers for their friendly service.

I hope everyone had as great a time as I had Christmas. Friday, Johnny, Anna their daughter Karen and Keith Lipford and their children, spent the day for dinner, gift exchange. Grandson Craig and Sheryl Roy and children came that afternoon. It was a merry day.

Saturday grandson Brian Roy came and took me to his parents Edwin and Janet, where their two sons Craig and Sheryl and children, and Brian and sons, also daughter Megan and Chris Luttrell and sons, enjoyed the big dinner and Santa was very liberal there. The big rain didn’t dampen the fun.

Arkansas weather has set two records in December, the hottest on record in the south, and the wettest December. We had around 15 inches during the month. Ten inches over the recent week-end and five in two rains earlier.

The rain didn’t bother me as much, until my phone quit working. That one thing makes me feel so isolated; but thanks to our trusty Prairie Grove Telephone Company and their employees, it was back in order soon.

Happy birthday greeting to Hudson Moore, Waylin Luttrell, Pat Summers, Chris Kincaid, Dee Pettigrew, Rose Woodlee, Rachel Bruner and Skyla Bruner (twins), Doris Thurman, Doug Hulse, Johnny Swain.

Happy years, all!
