John Loyd Eneks

John Loyd Eneks, 83, of Lincoln, Ark., passed away Feb. 23, 2016, in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born July 12, 1932, in Summers , Ark., the son of Robert Lee and Winnie Davis Galbraith Eneks.

John served in the U. S. Navy and was in Operation Wigwam.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lynn Eneks; and two sisters Mary Joe Blagg and Anna Ruth Hyler.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances Louise McCratic Eneks; one son, Lloyd Eugene Eneks and wife Michelle of Lincoln; one daughter, Blendia Colene Curtis and husband Buddy of Westville, Okla.; two sisters, Loretta Spinks of Fayettevil­le and Wanda Allsup of Prairie Grove, Ark.; six grandchild­ren, Amanda Hall and husband Josh, Taryn Jones and husband Jesse, Bridgett Curtis, Bryan Curtis, Erica Bowles and husband Keith, and John Mark Eneks and wife Anna McIlroy; and five great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at Luginbuel Chapel. Burial was in Bethesda Cemetery and there were no graveside services.

Pallbearer­s were: Oscar Cantrell, Les Pinkerton, Roy Lee Allsup, Dean Eneks, Roy Douglas Eneks, and Danny Curtis.

Thomas Burton McGee

Thomas Burton McGee, 89, of Farmington, Ark., died Feb. 25, 2016, at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayettevil­le, Ark. He was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Cardin, Okla., the son of Ernest Burton McGee and Pernie Qualls McGee Turrentine of Springdale, Ark.

In 1945, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Higbee, Navy destroyer.

He began Burton McGee Constructi­on Company in 1965 and continued the craft for 50 years. He enjoyed life to the fullest with his family and friends. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, tell a joke, dance the two- step, encourage a friend, and have a good laugh. He enjoyed gardening, camping, music, traveling, wood working, and a big bowl of ice cream. He became a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church of Fayettevil­le in 1973. He was also a member of the Prairie Grove Gideons for over 25 years. Over the past five years he has been active at the Farmington Senior Center.

Second only to his devotion to his Lord was his love for his wife Mary Ellen and his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Ellen Plumlee McGee; his parents; two sisters, Roberta Perry of Springdale and Bernadeen Farr; three stepbrothe­rs, Ed Turrentine of Fayettevil­le, Bill Turrentine of Goshen, Ark., and Faye Turrentine of Oklahoma.

He has three surviving children, Kathy Wallace and her husband Michael Wallace of Lincoln, Ark., Brenda Laney and her husband Randy Laney of Farmington, and Greg McGee and his wife Karen Caselman McGee of Farmington; one stepsister, Freda Will; 14 grandchild­ren and 24 great-grandchild­ren.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Willard Walker Hospice Home and the Highland Oncology Group for the exceptiona­l care and treatment that enabled him to live life to the fullest.

Funeral was at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 29, 2016, at Calvary Baptist Church in Fayettevil­le with Brother Gene Fulcher officiatin­g along with Brother Phil Misenheime­r. Interment followed at Zion Cemetery under the direction of Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home of Fayettevil­le. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Farmington Senior Center or the Willard Walker Hospice Home.

Pallbearer­s were his grandsons, Jason Selby, Micah Laney, Joshua McGee, Daniel Laney, John Mark Laney, Yura Laney, Matthew Laney and Jordan Wallace.
