Questions But Where Are The Answers?

- MARIE ROY WCN Columnist

Again, a chance of rain has gone by. We wonder how the weather forecasters can continue to hold their jobs when they make so many mistakes, so often wrong.

This is on a different subject, or subjects, but more “ever wonders.”

Why don’t we ever see the headline, “Psychic wins lottery”?

Why is abbreviated such a long word?

Why is it that doctors call what they do ”practice”?

Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?

Why is the man who invests all our money called a “broker”?

Why is it called buttermilk, when there is no butter in it?

Just wondering. Any one else with questions?

By the time we read this, we will know if March came in like a lamb or a lion.

And March is: American Red Cross month, ethics awareness, honor society, expect success, music in our schools, listening awareness, youth-art, craft , frozen foods, nutrition, caffeine awareness, peanut, poison prevention awareness, save your vision, collision awareness, umbrella, women’s history, optimism, and mirth month.

Also this month, daylight “saving” time begins, St. Patrick’s day, first day of Spring and Easter. Lots to celebrate, take your picks.

Cupid has not been idle in the Lincoln Senior Center. Roy Gene Rinehart and Shirley Bridges are engaged to be married. Also, they were elected and crowned King and Queen of the center, for the Valentine month.

So, double congratulations are for these two special people and their host of friends wish them the best, much happiness for many years to come.

Happy birthday to: Jackson Griscom, Michael Snarr, Shannon Yokom, Chris Luttrell, Peggy Curtis, Dick Bradley, Lonnie Shannon, Dalton Bruner.

Happy anniversary to Jay and Sandy Norton.

Happy years, all!
