Cecil Dee Platt Flood, 83, of Eagle Mountain, Utah, passed away March 12, 2016, in Orem, Utah. She was born Oct. 1, 1932, in Fayettevil­le, Ark., to Cecil S. and Ruth Brooks Platt.

She grew up in Prairie Grove, Ark., where she was very active in 4H. She graduated from Prairie Grove High School and went on to attend the University of Arkansas where she earned a BA in Elementary Education. She began teaching kindergart­en in Tulsa, Okla., where she met and married Bruce H. Flood. They moved to California where they lived for many years with their five children. She was active with Girl Scouts, Little League, Flag Football, and many other activities that her children were involved in. While living in California she was also an active Avon Representa­tive. The Family moved to Chesterfie­ld, Mo., where she operated a busy daycare from her home for many, many years. She dearly loved each and every child she cared for and there were many. In recent years she moved to Utah to be nearer her children and grandchild­ren. She loved sports and remained a devoted fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by Bruce H. Flood; and son, Terry Flood.

She is survived by her children, Keith Flood of Eagle Mountain, Cynthia Whetten (Brent) of Orem, Timothy Flood ( Marie) of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Cheryl Wieczorek ( David), Paso Robles, Calif.; four grandchild­ren, A. J. Sovine ( Leola) of Orem, Katelyn Jensen ( Nate) of Springvill­e, Utah, Madison Sovine of Orem, and Brianna Whetten of Orem; one great- grandson, Treyson Sovine; a sister, Carroll Lee Harp of Atlanta , Ga.; and a brother, Larry Platt ( Bobbi) of Springdale, Ark. She was much loved and will be dearly missed. May she Rest in Peace.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah.
