Sunday School Class Enlightens
Sunday School class at Sugar Hill Church this Sunday was enlightening and fully discussed, with many shared comments and experiences.
The subject was on putting Christ f i rs t , with total faith in Him, before riches or other personal belongings, or actions, or even responsibilities.
While studying on His words on riches, I thought of the following.
Measure of Wealth
Money is the husk of many things, but not the kernel;
Money brings you food, but not appetite;
Money brings you medicine, but not health;
Money brings you acquaintances, but not friends;
Money brings you servants, but not loyalty;
Money brings you joy, but not peace or lasting happiness;
“In God We Trust,” National motto on U. S. Currency.
Money is not required to buy one necessity of the soul. And again: Th e re are lots of things that money can’t buy—
The scent of a rose, the blue of the sky;
The sound of a bird singing at dawn,
Memories that stay when the years have gone.
The clasp of a hand, the smile of a friend;
Faith in our hearts and peace at day’s end.
Our sympathy to those south of us and all others who had tornadoes this past week.
We’ve had plenty rain, but to prove I’m too often not satisfied, I did wish for some hard showers to wash the pollen from the cedars.
It was so heavy on an entire tree that no green showed, just heavy coated yellow.
No wonder there has been so many cases of allergies and sinus infections.
Happy birthday to Mary Newberry, Mary Lauren Bradley, Carol Meyer, Seth Lat ta, Elmer Williams, Richard Watson, Sam King, Paul Brakebill, Leslie Pinkerton, Wesley Pinkerton, Jack Batson, J.F. Cheatham, Kathy Britt, Derek Cheatham.
