Vera Marie Greene Newtown

Vera Marie Greene Newtown, 97, of Lincoln, Ark., passed away May 13, 2016, in the Western Kentucky Veteran’ s Center in Hanson, Ky. She was born on Dec. 18, 1918, in Highland Park, Ill., the daughter of George and Adelaide Inman Greene.

She was a World War II Woman Marine Corps Reserve veteran.

She has joined her husband Glenford in the loving arms of their savior.

She formerly resided in their retirement home on Krie Road in Washington County.

She is survived by two sons, Glenford A. Newtown Jr. and wife Ann and George A. Newtown and wife Barbara; five grandchildren, Glenn III, Gary and wife Amy, Miranda, Elizabeth and husband Eric Gore, and David; five great- grandchildren, Whitney, Hayley, Elizabeth, Sean, (and almost here) Robin.

Visitation was Thursday, May 19, from 6-7 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home in Prairie Grove, Ark. Burial was on Friday, May 20, at 10 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark. A memorial service to celebrate her life was held on Saturday, May 21, at 10: 30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church in Prairie Grove.
