Why The Tournament Is Played

-

“The Jarren Sorters Memorial Baseball Tournament exists to honor, to carry forward — the love and the memories of a young man, who left this world too soon.”

On behalf of Prairie Grove baseball and the Play4Jarren Foundation, we would like to thank all of the teams, who participated last week, the fans, and all our sponsors for making this possible.

The Jarren Sorters Memorial Baseball Tournament exists to honor, to carry forward — the love and the memories of a young man, who left this world too soon.

Jarren Sorters lost his life to one of the rarest and most aggressive of childhood cancers. But, we know death is not the end, so we continue moving forward as Jarren would expect.

Baseball was an important aspect of Jarren’s life. Many of us here knew Jarren through baseball. So, we played baseball last week in his memory.

But, this tournament, like Jarren, is about much more than baseball. It’s about love. It’s about appreciation. It’s about never giving up, never giving in, never quiting.

We are here to continue the fight against childhood cancer. Jarren lived life 100 percent til the very end. Never backing down, Jarren faced this world head-on, with expectations that only his best was enough.

So, we are giving our best. We hope to give everyone who participates a glimpse of Jarren, and what he means to us — to raise funds for the fight against childhood cancer.

Your entry fees and concession purchases will go to the Play4 Jarren Foundation. If you would like to continue your support, please go to www.play4jarren.org.

We hope every team, who has joined us, will play with compassion, courage and compete like No. 27 Jarren Sorters.

Play ball.
