The Petal Peddler now open in Lincoln

- By Justin Freeman Enterprise-Leader

Those in Northwest Arkansas may already be familiar with Steve and D.G. Whitney, owners of Vintage on the Square in downtown Lincoln. They are now also a full-service florist that can serve all of the community’s floral needs.

The store began as a vintage shop after the Whitneys spent years collecting vintage merchandise privately as a hobby. It quickly morphed into a floral market and design shop.

“We pride ourselves on listening to what the customer wants and providing quality services with competitive pricing,” D.G. Whitney said. “Our trademark is paying attention to the details!”

The Petal Peddler offers a wide range of services and products for any occasion. They provide vintage wedding and event rentals, styling and planning services. Unable to make it to the shop? They deliver to all communities in the area, including Fayetteville.

“Our shop is in Lincoln but we live in Prairie Grove and have grandchildren in the Farmington School System so our hearts are spread out all over these communities,” they said. “We love being able to help those in our community make their day or event perfect and something that they will remember forever.”

Because of that love for their community, they are donating 5 percent of every prom, graduation and Mother’s Day order to the school of the customer’s choice. They are very involved with school fundraising events throughout the year and they network with florists all over the nation for customers who need to order flowers out of state, which is extremely convenient for those wanting to order something for Mother’s Day.

Steve and D.G. are partnering with Prairie Grove residents Kara Townsend and Brenna Center to host High on the Hog Vintage Market on May 5 and 6 at the Lincoln Rodeo Grounds. They invite you to come enjoy a variety of vendors, food trucks and music at the event.
