Coaches Named To All-Star Teams

CONWAY — The president of the Arkansas High School Coaches Associatio­n, Eric Chambers of Beebe, recently announced the head coaches and coaching staffs for the 2017 Arkansas Army National Guard/Arkansas High School Coaches Associatio­n All-Star Baseball, Softball and Soccer games held on June 20-21, 2017. The AHSCA also announced its selection of All-Star Athletic Trainers for the All-Star week.

This year marks the 62nd anniversar­y of All-Star competitio­n and the 14th for baseball, softball and soccer.

The All-Star baseball doublehead­er will be played at Bear Stadium on the University of Central Arkansas campus at Conway on Tuesday, June 20, starting at 5 p.m. The All-Star softball doublehead­er will be played at Farris Field on the University of Central Arkansas campus at Conway on Tuesday, June 20, starting at 5 p.m. The All-Star soccer games will be played on Wednesday, June 21, at Estes Stadium on the UCA campus with the girls’ match starting at 5 p.m. and the boys’ match at 7 p.m.

The head coach for the East baseball team will be Ronnie Goodwin of Cabot and the head coach for the West baseball team is Kyle Slayton of Nashville.

The head coach for the East softball team will be Todd Finley of Bald Knob and the head coach for the West softball team is Randy Osnes of Farmington.

The head coach for the East boys’ soccer team is Tyler Woods of Beebe and the head coach for the West boys’ soccer team is Brent Crenshaw of Siloam Springs.

The head coach for the East girls’ soccer team is Larry Stamps of Searcy and the head coach for the West girls’ soccer team is Bijan Timjani of Texarkana.

Goodwin’s East baseball staff will consist of Bruce Hunt of Greene County Tech, Tommy Richardson of Woodlawn and Jim Tejcek of Mountain Home. Slayton’s West baseball staff will consist of Randy Loyd of Magazine, Will McGinnis of Greenland and Ryan Casalman of County Line.

Finley’s East softball staff will consist of Lisa Dreher of Bryant, Chastan Carpino of Harrisburg and Deanna Carr of Armorel.

Osnes’ West softball staff will consist of Sara Tew of Bauxite, Blue Kesterson of Poyen and Tamara Strawn of Sheridan.

Woods’ East boys’ soccer staff will consist of Amanda Carter of Westside, Richard Friday of Bryant and Miguel Mondragon of Hamburg. Crenshaw’s West boys’ soccer staff will consist of Darren Chandler of Prairie Grove, Stephen Peck of Rogers and Cory Sturdivant of Hot Springs.

Stamps’ East girls’ soccer staff will consist of Michael Klucher of North Little Rock, Kim Paslay of Brookland and D.J. Vincent of Parkview.

Timjani’s West girls’ soccer staff will consist of Todd Eskola of Robinson, Stephanie Mitchell of Prairie Grove and Michael Riba of Vilonia.

The All-Star Athletic Trainers are Todd Ross of Pulaski Academy, Christa Finney of Bryant, Zach Hoyt of Newport, Michelle Edwards of Episcopal Collegiate, Kallie Johnson of Lonoke, Ashley Nordin of Harrison, Jacob Walton-Conner of Bauxite, Brandon Sitz of Bryant and Lyndsey Rich of Cabot.
