Stories Of Days Gone By To Be Published

-

Hometown Memories is wrapping up its publication of local stories in a book titled “A Living History of The Arkansas Ozark Mountains, Grapevine Swings and Hill Top Farms.” The hardcover coffee table book will contain tales of bygone years from Arkansans who actually lived them.

The Arkansas Ozark Mountains book will be hard bound and coffee table sized (8 ½ by 11 inches) with over 320 pages and hundreds of old photographs. Each copy will be library quality,. The Arkansans who appear in this book are from all walks of life.

Todd Blair, publisher at Hometown Memories, says, “We are delighted that over 237 folks shared their memories and pictures for the book. The memories in this book are an extremely valuable part of the region’s history and heritage and we are grateful for the opportunity to save and share them. Like our previous books, its purpose is to preserve the spirit and character of a time that will never be seen again. It will tell future generations what life was really like back in the good old days in The Arkansas Ozark Mountains.”

Hometown Memories includes a contest for the best stories and for the book’s cover photo. Blair continues, “With so many submissions, it was very hard to choose the prizewinners. All of the stories and pictures are wonderful in their own way, but the cash winners we chose are: Bobbie Stephens Sparkman of Rogers, Floyd E. Fry of Star City and Jerry Leach of Lincoln. We would also like to give honorable mention to the contributions from Shirley Swanson Miner of Bentonville and Jeanie Miller of Fayetteville. The cash prize winner for the book’s cover photo goes to Peggy Wolfinbarger of Eureka Springs. Congratulations to these and all other folks who contributed to the book.”

There are currently more than 100,000 copies of other Hometown Memories living history books in circulation. Anyone interested in the book can call toll free, at 877-491-8802, or visit the web site at www.hometownmemoriesonline.com.
