University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le

Lizeth Martinez of Prairie Grove has been selected as one of the 14 outstandin­g University of Arkansas freshmen to enter the Honors College Path Program this fall.

Martinez is a kinesiolog­y major in the College of Education and Health Profession­s. She is the daughter of Ignacio and Maria Martinez of Prairie Grove. She is a graduate of Prairie Grove High School.

The Path program, which began in 2014, is a mentoring initiative that recruits talented high school students from underrepre­sented population­s and helps them achieve academic success at the University of Arkansas.

The Path program pairs students with peer and profession­al mentors who help them achieve success in the classroom and explore opportunit­ies to secure scholarshi­ps and financial aid, study abroad, conduct research and get involved in campus leadership.

University of Dallas

Jarred Osnes, a Farmington graduate, was named to the Dean’s List for the 2017 spring semester at University of Dallas. To be named to the Dean’s List, students have to earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

University of Central Arkansas

The University of Central Arkansas held its latest commenceme­nt Aug. 11. Leslie Peters Spurgers of Farmington graduated with a bachelor of arts degree and Audrey Rodgers of Farmington graduated with a bachelor of science degree.

Evangel University

Madison Barnes of Farmington was named to the spring 2017 Dean’s List at Evangel University in Springfiel­d, Mo. During the spring semester, Barnes was a senior with a major in elementary education. Full-time students who have earned a grade point average of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale are eligible to be on the Dean’s List.
